Grandpa Peter!

The crisis in Japan has been keeping Grandpa Peter very busy. Everyone wants his opinion! Elsie said, "What's Grandpa Peter doing on TV?" I bet Nuclear power executives were wondering the same thing!

Here he is in less hectic times:

Ski Weekend!

We spent last weekend in White Pass,Washington where the famous ski racing siblings Phil and Steve Mahre learned to ski. It was a big hit. The girls liked the cool snow castle at the mountain's base:

Theo got suited up for some killer turns:

Elsie's boots were a little big on her:

Here's what Theo looked like a little over a year ago in Vermont, her first time on skis. We think her feet were probably pointing straight down here, but she didn't seem to mind:

Here's Theo hanging with her buddy Siggy, who lives up the street from us:

Below, see Elsie in her yellow jacket, practicing her hands on knees descent style. She learned to turn a little too:

Elsie and Daddy went up the chairlift and had a nice ski down from the top:

Elsie's favorite part was stopping at the mid-mountain yurt for a snack:

Theo also descended from the top, but she rode on Daddy's back:

Here we are at the bottom. Theo is asleep.

Theo napped for hours in the lodge after her big day:

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for. Our new car, dubbed "The Black Lovewagon" by uncle Pete. It seats 7! Come visit us and we'll go four wheelin'!

A Jump for Cousin Thomas

Elsie was jumping around the other day and she said "remember when I did a jump for Danny Hawkins?" I said "yes, of course" and then she said she wanted to do one for cousin Thomas too. This seemed particularly apt since he had just been out protesting for her right to be an Egyptian president someday, or at least married to one. Here's the jump:

We highly recommend visiting Cousin Thomas and Emmett's blog. Things are far more exciting over in Cairo!

What a difference a few years make...
