The Return of Saoirse

Elsie went to visit one of her oldest friends, Saoirse (that's an irish name, pronounced "Saoirse" - who names their daughter that?). Longtime readers of this blog will recall their first meeting here. Now look how much they've grown! Little Elsie is catching up. This is not surprising since Saoirse's father is somewhat diminuative in stature, and I used to school him on the basketball court. But I digress...

Here are Maggie and Deirdre walking with their respective babies in the park. Dierdre is the world famous author of the highly reccomended book, "The Complete Organic Pregnancy". Without it these two babies would not be so healthy! Check it out here! What a great gift! Even if the person isn't pregnant!

Roger and Deirdre take Saoirse to movies and rock concerts sometimes. They make her wear headphones so as not to damage her ears. Someone told them that they were special "baby headphones" and charged them a lot of money. Closer examination reveals that they are just regular sized headphones. Here we see Elsie trying them on:

Thomas K. comes to town

Well, this was a meeting we were all looking forward to. At first it seemed like a case of pink-eye was going to keep them away, but then things cleared up and we had a family visit from aunt Laura, uncle Dave, and Cousin Thomas! Elsie and Tom didn't interact too much but Thomas did say, "baby" quite a few times. Here we see Thomas grab Elsie's foot as she winces in pain:

Thomas is basically a year older than Elsie. What a difference! It should be noted that the reason Tom is not wearing pants is because Grandma Kathy took him to play in Vidamae's water bowl a few minutes earlier. He didn't forget to put them on that day. Below we see how Thomas did not like seeing another child in his mother's arms. That's how I feel when I see Maggie kissing another man.

Here's me and Dave taking control of the situation:

Family! Look how Dave and I are holding hands..

10 lbs! Relatives! And a bath!

Elsie has reached two milestones this week: She's a month old, and she now weighs over ten pounds! Nice milk producing Maggie! So now it's time to catch up on all the wonderful relatives whom Elsie has had the chance to see in her first month of life. Maggie made sure that everyone washed their hands before slathering their family germs all over her.

Fist, here's Elsie with her great aunt Carola, from New Hampshire:

And here she is with her great aunt Deborah. all the way from Colorado:

And here's Cuzzins Creston and Kerrie, from Burlington Vermont. Creston and Elsie have the same hairline! har-har!

Later that same night Creston hit the stage with none other than world famous rocker Jay Farar. Check it out. Creston makes guitars used by many famous musicians. Look at them at: http://crestonguitars.com/

After all those germs it was time for Elsie's first bath. She didn't enjoy it that much, but now she's fresh and clean.

Coming up: Hot times with old pal Saoirse and meeting cousin Thomas!
