Maine '12
Oh what fun we had at Grandkathy's in Maine! Most of our pictures were taken at our favorite beach, Popham Beach. We went there twice and had a lot of fun. Maggie was there for the first few days of our visit. Behold!
At night Elsie and Daddy went out and caught fireflies. It was like re-visting days of youth. Elsie kept them in a jar by here bed and they lit up the room all night until she let them go in the morning. She loves catch small creatures and keeping them for a while, in comfort, and then letting them go.
We cut a lot of brush and tree limbs and then visited the fire station where they gave us a tour and fire hats and also a permit to burn stuff. Grandkathy led the charge and the kid gave many helpful hands. The fire burned for hours!
Back to Popham for the second visit. It was sunnier on this day.
Elsie and Thomas did a lot of karate moves.

I just love them.
Note that on a Maine beach you might wear long pants and a jacket to be comfortable.
The brush fire became a wiener roast after the Oregon family left. Emmett told me he'd never roasted a hot dog before. We made him into a little American that night.
