A Walk Around Brooklyn

Elsie had a good MLK weekend even though her father spent most of Friday night puking from some mysterious bug. Poor Maggie had two babies to take care of. Luckily the bug passed and Elsie seems unaffected. Before the bug hit on Friday we went back to the hospital were Elsie was born to take her hearing test. They were supposed to give it to her before we left, but that was New Years Day and no one was there to give it. Or so we were told. When we returned Friday someone informed Maggie that Elsie had failed the first test, and this is why we needed to return. Before we could get too worked up over this they stuck some wires on Elsie's little ears and announced that her hearing was fine. Horay!

That afternoon we decided to celebrate with a walk around the neighborhood. First we stopped at Big Kath's painting studio. Elsie is getting her culture early!

Then we walked through the park and down to the river. On the way home we stopped by our friend Aki's salon. She squealed with delight at the sight of the new baby. Pretty soon she'll be cutting her hair.

It was a very hip afternoon and everyone went to bed happy, except me, because that's when I began to vommit. Everyone's fine now and Vidamae was just glad that we finally got to take a walk...
