Simming Lessons!

Every afternoon for two weeks Ida and Elsie, the Big Girls, get picked up from Tumbleweed a little early because they are going to...swimming lessons! The level of excitement this generates is exciting.

Elsie and Ida are "pre-goldfish" which essentially means they can't swim. But they do lots of exercises designed to get the more comfortable in the water. The first week is done now and we are entering week two. Here we see Elsie holding her nose before taking the big face plunge. Tears ensued the first time, but now she's better at it.

Ida has no issues with dunking her face.

There's another pre-goldfish in their class, named Josephine, but she often stays on the steps, perhaps intimidated by the cousinly vibe. There was also a boy who showed up on the first day, but he never got in the water and now is gone.

It's great to see these two budding swimmers. Remember when Chandler and I took them to this pool for some pre preGoldfish lessons and you had to take pictures through the fence like a pervert ?
love,
Mom

Yes, I have many fond memories of swim class and of Arthur lurking by the fence.
