And we're still waiting...
The July 4th weekend has come and gone and still no sign of Elsie's little sister. Well, there's been a few signs, but she's not out in the world yet. I was perhaps being optimistic when I placed the poll limit on July 10th, but I still think we'll see the baby before then. For those of you interested in the technical details, Maggie's dilated 4cm as of July 3, whatever that means.
Elsie spent the weekend walking around the 'hood in her rubber boots with dad, trying to give Mom a rest. We also had a massive fireworks display documented here.
The next day we took a trip to Oaks Bottom, a nearby amusement park, where Ida turned out to have a little more courage than her older cousin on the the thrilling rides. Here's Ida looking stoic on the carousel.
And here's Elsie on the same ride:
She bucked it up as things got going though and put on her tough face:
Here's Ida throwing herself full on into the "Big Pink" slide:
Time for a closer look:
There was no stopping that little trooper! Here's Elsie enjoying the same ride:
She was lovin' it! Maggie took these photos by the way. Ida was so gung ho for thrills that Ella and Pete decided to take her on the roller coaster. Elsie declined. Here's Maggie's documentation of Ida's big ride:
A closer look at the above shot reveals little Ida's head peeking above the blue car:
Anyway, after the rides mothers and daughters relaxed and waited for something big to come along the horizon...
