Spring Break is 4 Skiing!

In the above shot you see Elsie helping her younger sister Theo ski her first run without adult assistance.  This blog has chronicled Elsie's fine progress in skiing, but this spring break it was Theo who put in the breakout performance.  She can ski on her own now, as you shall see.

At the beginning of the week we took a trip with the Rock/Vinings to an excellent mountain in central Oregon called Hoodoo.  Here Elsie beholds the steep terrain at the top:

Ida was brave as always, undaunted by the great heights:

Here I was trying to snap a nice picture of Elsie, Ida and Ella, but Ida scooted off and nearly flew over a cliff.  We caught her though.

After Hoodoo we took a break and when it got sunny we headed up to good old Mt. Hood, where Theo modeled her sunglasses with tumbleweed pal Kaito:

We even went to the top of Mt. Hood Meadows:

And then Theo skied! Watch the descent:

Theo also took a jump.  BIG air!

Doesn't Oregon jail parents whose children ski without helmets?

You've done it Arthur and Maggie - two skiing kids. The sun is out, the trails are smooth, no icy patches or moguls and two very happy little girls.
