A pumpkin that could win a prize at Senters Pumpkin contest

No way. This pumpkin was obviously carved by a parent.

Love,

Occhio

As one who gets to see her on a daily basis, I have to say: these are not carefully chosen photos; she's actually this cute. And she'll likely be kidnapped before too long, so we must all enjoy her while we can.

Maybe she looks so good because of the persistent "soft focus?"

I would like to give all the credit for that very excellent pumpkin head to my husband, Arthur.

“A Little Tooth” by Thomas Lux

Your baby grows a tooth then two,
And four, and five, then she wants some meat
Directly from the bone. It’s all
over: she’ll learn some words, she’ll fall
In love with cretins, dolts, a sweet
Talker on his way to jail. And you,

Your wife, get old, flyblown and rue
Nothing. You did, you love, your feet
Are sore. It’s dusk. Your daughter’s tall.

That's beautiful, Kath. Is it a subway poem?

Is there a tour bus parked outside the house?

And does that tour bus have a Wolf painted on the side?

Hey! I've never been up in Elsie's room. How come you won't let me go in there and everything?

Little Tooth poem was up in the New York subway all last winter - but little Else didn't have a tooth then.
